Story Transcript:

Ca: Barcelona brilla sota el sol. Els amics Jordi i Marta passegen per l'històric carrer de Las Ramblas, amb les seves palmeres ondulant suament amb la brisa marina. A les butxaques, tenen els estómacs ruidosos de la fam que acaba de cobrar vida. Decideixen entrar a un restaurant a costat de la Plaça Reial.
En: Barcelona shines under the sun. Friends Jordi and Marta stroll along the historic street of Las Ramblas, with its palm trees swaying gently in the sea breeze. In their pockets, their hungry stomachs come alive. They decide to enter a restaurant next to Plaza Reial.

Ca: La cambrera desapareix ràpidament arrere la porta de la cuina, deixant-los sols amb un cambrer de cara ampla i somriure radiant. La seva insígnia diu Raúl. Pero Raúl no parla l'espanyol ni el català com solen fer-ho els altres cambrers. En lloc d'això, Raúl parla una llengua totalment diferent: el futbol.
En: The waitress quickly disappears behind the kitchen door, leaving them alone with a waiter with a wide face and a radiant smile. His badge says Raúl. But Raúl doesn't speak Spanish or Catalan like the other waiters usually do. Instead, Raúl speaks a completely different language: football.

Ca: Jordi i Marta miren els menús perplexes. "Potser vol dir una truita quan diu 'hat-trick'?", suggereix Jordi, els seus llavis arrugats en un somriure dubitatiu.
En: Jordi and Marta look at the menus perplexed. "Maybe when he says 'hat-trick,' he means an omelette?" Jordi suggests, his lips wrinkled in a doubtful smile.

Ca: Marta es posa les ulleres per llegir millor. "No, crec que 'hat-trick' es refereix a una amanida...saps? Tres ingredients?"
En: Marta puts on her glasses to read better. "No, I think 'hat-trick' refers to a salad...you know, three ingredients?"

Ca: Una mirada de confusió arriba al rostre de Jordi. Marta suspira i es recolza a la cadira. Finalment, després de diverses comparacions confuses sobre menús i frases de futbol, troben una solució.
En: Confusion spreads across Jordi's face. Marta sighs and leans back in her chair. Finally, after several confusing comparisons of menus and football phrases, they find a solution.

Ca: Comencen per descriure els aliments utilitzant termes de futbol. "Voldríem un gir d'estadi", diu Jordi, assenyalant la pizza familiar del menú. Marta, somrient, acorda. "Sí, amb un 'tir al pal' d'olives negres, i 'córner'... segurament parla del formatge en els racons".
En: They start describing the food using football terms. "We would like a stadium twist," Jordi says, pointing to the family-sized pizza on the menu. Marta, smiling, agrees. "Yes, with a 'shot to the post' of black olives, and a 'corner'...he must be referring to the cheese in the corners."

Ca: Raúl riu i assenteix, finalment entenent les seves peticions. Escrivint ràpidament a la seva llibreta, marxa cap a la cuina.
En: Raúl laughs and nods, finally understanding their requests. Quickly jotting it down in his notepad, he heads towards the kitchen.

Ca: Finalment, la pizza arriba, càlida i olorosa, tal com l'havien descriure. Tot i la complexitat del seu llenguatge, l'enteniment mutu havia estat clau. Llenguatge de futbol o no, havien estat capaços de comunicar-se y raó per la qual tots tres rien.
En: Finally, the pizza arrives, warm and aromatic, just as they had described it. Despite the complexity of their language, mutual understanding had been key. Football language or not, they had been able to communicate, and that's why all three of them laugh.

Ca: "El futbol realment és una llengua que tots parlem", somriu Marta, mossegant un tros de pizza. Jordi ho confirma amb un somriure. La seva aventura barcelonina havia acabat en una nota alta, una ximpleria convertida en un record inoblidable.
En: "Football truly is a language we all speak," Marta smiles, taking a bite of the pizza. Jordi confirms with a smile. Their Barcelona adventure had ended on a high note, a silliness turned into an unforgettable memory.

Ca: Amb això, es demostra que la comunicació pot travessar qualsevol barrera, fins i tot si la llengua és el futbol. No hi ha nau davant del desig humà d'entendre's i connectar-se. I amb aquesta lliçó, Jordi i Marta gaudeixen de la seva pizza amb una rialla i una vista del cor de Barcelona.
