God reveals through Joseph’s story that every detail of your life is sovereignly woven together for good to fulfill His design purpose. (Romans 8:28) He planned in advance your destiny before you were ever born and the good works you would do to accomplish it as Joseph’s life demonstrates.
It is God, not you, who orchestrates all the events of your life to mature you to reign in His kingdom as a king and priest to Him. (Revelation 5:10) Just as God sent Joseph ahead of his brothers and family to preserve them from the famine. He directs your path with the message that delivers others out of danger into His safety – the Good News that fulfills the ache of your heart by restoring you to the Father Who loves you, by amazing grace! (Proverbs 16:9, 2 Corinthians 5:18, Ephesian 2:8)
Today you learn that God even uses those who hurt you to move you forward to fulfill your destiny. Joseph told his brothers who painfully betrayed him, It was God Who sent me ahead of you to save lives. (Genesis 45:5) God gave Joseph a loving, forgiving heart that flowed mercy for his brothers' failures and gave them the grace they urgently needed to help in their time of need. (Hebrews 4:16). And He continually does the same for you by visibly displaying His grace and kindness toward you in Jesus Christ.
