Ro: În orașul Câmpulung Muscel, soarele strălucea cu o căldură blândă de primăvară.
En: In the town of Câmpulung Muscel, the sun shone with a gentle spring warmth.

Ro: Alexandru, un băiat voinic cu păr castaniu și ochi jucăuși, se îndrepta spre parcul orașului pentru a se întâlni cu prietenii lui, Maria și Dumitru.
En: Alexandru, a strong boy with brown hair and playful eyes, was heading to the town park to meet his friends Maria and Dumitru.

Ro: Maria era o fată cu un zâmbet larg și părul lung, ondulat, în timp ce Dumitru era cunoscut în oraș ca fiind cel mai rapid alergător.
En: Maria had a wide smile and long, wavy hair, while Dumitru was known in the town as the fastest runner.

Ro: Ziua era perfectă pentru a se juca afară și cei trei prieteni se hotărâseră să se întâlnească lângă lacul din parc, acolo unde în fiecare an veneau gâștele să se adape și să își crească puii.

Ro: Alexandru s-a gândit că cel mai bine ar fi să rămână nemișcat.

Ro: Dar, în timp ce se străduia să fie cât mai tăcut și nevăzut, mai multe gâște s-au alăturat celei dintâi.
En: But as he tried to be as quiet and unseen as possible, several more geese joined the first one.

Ro: Alexandru a început să se simtă puțin neliniștit.
En: Alexandru began to feel a little uneasy.

Ro: Nu știa exact de ce păsările păreau atât de nervoase, dar cu siguranță nu voia să afle.
En: He didn't exactly know why the birds seemed so nervous, but he definitely didn't want to find out.

En: Without warning, the geese started marching toward him, honking in a chorus that sent shivers down his spine.

En: With his heart pounding furiously, Alexandru took off, with the geese hot on his trail.

Ro: În timp ce alearga printre copaci și tufișuri, încercând să scape de păsări, a auzit un râs cristalin.

Ro: Maria și Dumitru tocmai ajungeau în parc și au rămas perplecși văzându-l pe Alexandru fugind urmărit de o armată de gâște.

Ro: După ce au văzut că Alexandru era teafăr și nevătămat, toți trei au început să râdă de aventura neașteptată.
