Story Transcript:

Zh: 在一个充满秋色的村庄，村里的人忙着准备中秋节。
En: In a village filled with autumn colors, the villagers were busy preparing for the Zhongqiu Jie (Mid-Autumn Festival).

Zh: 村里的学校也在准备一年一度的学校节日。
En: The village school was also getting ready for the annual school festival.

Zh: 连非常兴奋，她和她的同学组成了一个表演小组。
En: Lian was very excited; she and her classmates had formed a performance group.

Zh: 她希望他们的表演能够赢得最佳表演奖。
En: She hoped their performance could win the Best Performance Award.

Zh: 不过，事情并不像她想象得那么简单。
En: However, things weren’t as simple as she imagined.

Zh: “我们晚上六点练习，大家都能来吗？” 领导陈问。
En: “We’ll practice at six in the evening; can everyone come?” the leader Chen asked.
