When I’m submissive, I’m learning to surrender.” Karina Gutierrez, owner of mental health and holistic healing company Strategic Soul, joins the show to discuss sexual liberation and healing through BDSM.

Karina is an expert in both Western psychology and Eastern healing practices and holds two master's degrees from the University of Pennsylvania in professional counseling and counseling mental health services. She’s also a certified Kripalu yoga instructor, certified Strategic Intervention life coach and a certified Usui and Holy Fire® Reiki Master.

In this episode, Karina talks about working with a Tantric Coach and Pro Dom in order to let go of sexual shame and repression and experience sexual healing and liberation. She discusses how our sexual partners can serve as a reflection of our own sexuality, showing us the parts of ourselves that need to be healed and integrated. We talk about using sexuality to fuel your creativity and honor your eros. Karina discusses sexual repression, where it stems from and how it physically and emotionally manifests. She then explains what BDSM is– and isn’t– and the dynamics of domination and submission both in the bedroom and out in the real world. We talk about integrating dom/sub aspects into your life and how to find a healthy balance within yourself. Karina explains how to open and clear the chakras through sacred sexuality and, more specifically, the sacral chakra’s energetic tie to our sexual partners. We discuss our experiences with conscious celibacy. Karina talks about ‘kink’ and how to start exploring yours.
