Palm Sunday, the Sunday before Ressurection of Jesus, is a celebration of Jesus' return to Jerusalem riding on a donkey colt with cloaks and prayers shawls on its back. (Matthew 21:1-9, Mark11:1-10, Luke 19:28-40, John 12:12-19) There was an exceptionally large crowd who carpeted the road before him with their cloaks and prayer shawls. Others cut down branches from trees to spread in His path.
As Jesus approached the the city, the crowd witness him shouted with a loud outburst of ecstatic joy over all the mighty miracles and works of power they had witnessed He had done. They shouted over and over, “Highest praises to God for the one who comes as King in the name of the Lord! Heaven’s peace and glory from the highest realm now comes to us!” (Luke 19:37-38)
Then Jesus present himself to the people and enter into the Temple, and was question by the chief priests and scribes, the experts of the law, and the prominent men of the city trying to find a strategy to accuse Jesus, for they wanted him dead. (Luke 19:47) They failed to recognize their Messiah because they expected Him to come as a conquering king with the sword's power, not the King of Peace Who is your security, safety, prosperity, and happiness - depends. But it was hidden from their eyes. (Luke 19:42)
