Story Transcript:

Uk: Іван відступив від столу. Олександр замислився. У цей момент в чашці на столі булькнув борщ. Чашка звалилася. Борщ пролився по Олександрових колінах. Вони розміялися. Це було в Львові. На традиційному українському застіллі. В гостях у Софії.
En: Ivan stepped away from the table. Alexander became lost in thought. At that moment, the borscht in the cup on the table bubbled. The cup tipped over. The borscht spilled onto Alexander's knees. They burst into laughter. This happened in Lviv. At a traditional Ukrainian feast. At Sofia's place.

Uk: Переходимо на пару годин назад. Іван їздив до Львова з Києва на гостину до Софії. Їх давні відносини давали право на вічерю без прикрас. Іван привіз з собою Олександра. Вони обидва мали щось важливе сказати Софії.
En: Let's go back a couple of hours. Ivan traveled from Kyiv to Lviv to visit Sofia. Their long-standing relationship entitled them to a simple dinner. Ivan brought Alexander along. They both had something important to tell Sofia.

Uk: Софія прийняла їх в своєму львівському домі. Чарівний стол вона накривала сама. Все на столі було зроблено власноруч. Це була традиція. Що може бути кращим, як витратити цілий день на приготування вечері для друзів?
En: Sofia welcomed them into her Lviv house. She personally set a magical table. Everything on the table was handmade. It was a tradition. What could be better than spending the whole day preparing dinner for friends?

Uk: Вечір пройшов у розмовах і сміху. Іван і Олександр розказували про свої мандри. Софія в той час вдавала, що все це її зацікавлює. Все ж таки знайшовся час, коли друзі могли поговорити про життя.
En: The evening was filled with conversations and laughter. Ivan and Alexander shared stories of their travels. Sofia pretended to be truly interested. After all, there came a time when friends could talk about life.

Uk: І ось, в той самий момент, коли Іван пішов від столу, борщ в чашці затанцював. Він висипався. Весь на Олександрових колінах. Подивишся, а вони не можуть припинити регот. Сміх, набряклий десь зсередини, відринув пасмурність. Олександр перестав говорити. Всі сміялися. Іван вичистив чашку.
En: And then, at the very moment when Ivan left the table, the borscht in the cup started to dance. It spilled out. All on Alexander's knees. Before you knew it, they couldn't stop laughing. Laughter, bubbling from deep within, dispelled all the gloom. Alexander stopped talking. Everyone burst into laughter. Ivan cleaned up the cup.

Uk: Зміниться настрій. Софія сказала їм обидвом, що вона дуже любить їх. І вона це говорила іскрено, без приховування. Вона була щаслива носити для них борщ.
En: The mood shifted. Sofia told them both how much she loved them. And she said it sincerely, without hiding it. She was happy to serve them borscht.

Uk: Ця історія закінчилася, друзі пішли додому. Вони знову збираються разом. Щоб оживити всі ті часи, коли спільні розмови та сміх заповнюють кімнату.
