Story Transcript:

Ga: I lár na hoíche i nGaillimh, bhí an teach tábhairne ciúin.
En: In the middle of the night in Galway, the pub was quiet.

Ga: Bhí Liam, Niamh agus Conor ina suí ag bord i gcúinne.
En: Liam, Niamh, and Conor were sitting at a table in the corner.

Ga: Bhí ceol binn ag an mbanna áitiúil ag seinm sa chúlra.
En: The local band was playing sweet music in the background.

Ga: Bhí an triúr ag gáire agus ag cabaireacht.
En: The three were laughing and chatting.

Ga: Go tobann, thosaigh Conor ag cneadach agus ag preabadh.
En: Suddenly, Conor began to gasp and convulse.

Ga: Bhí sé ag tarraingt anála deacair.
En: He was struggling to breathe.

Ga: Rinne sé iarracht labhairt, ach níor éirigh leis.
En: He tried to speak, but he couldn’t manage it.

Ga: Bhí radharc Liam agus Niamh ag dul bán.
En: Liam and Niamh's faces turned pale.

Ga: "Niamh, tá Conor ag streachailt!" a dúirt Liam le hanáil ghéar.
En: "Niamh, Conor is in trouble!" said Liam with a sharp breath.

Ga: Léim Niamh ina sheasamh agus rith sí chuige.
En: Niamh jumped to her feet and ran over to him.

Ga: "Conor, áitigh ort a tharraingt anála domhain," a dúirt sí, ach níor chabhraigh sé.
En: "Conor, try to take deep breaths," she said, but it didn’t help.

Ga: Chaith sí súil ar a mhála agus thug sí faoi deara an cófra le spraeáil a bhí ag teastáil.
En: She glanced at her bag and noticed the box with the spray he needed.

Ga: "Liam, téigh ar lorg cabhrach!" a scread Niamh.
En: "Liam, go get help!" Niamh screamed.

Ga: Thosaigh Liam ag rith go dti an beár.
En: Liam started running to the bar.

Ga: "Cabhair, tá duine tinn anseo!" a dúirt sé go héigeantach.
En: "Help, someone is sick here!" he said urgently.

Ga: Chas gach duine timpeall orthu.
En: Everyone turned around.

Ga: Rith an barman suas agus rug sé greim ar an bhfón.
En: The barman ran up and grabbed the phone.

Ga: "Cuirfidh mé fios ar otharcharr. Níl a fhios agam cé chomh fada is a thógfaidh sé," a dúirt sé go práinneach.
En: "I’ll call an ambulance. I don’t know how long it will take,” he said urgently.

Ga: Bhí Conor fós ag streachailt lena análú ar feadh cúpla nóiméad eile.
En: Conor was still struggling to breathe for a few more minutes.

Ga: Ach ansin tharraing sé casáidín beag as a phóca.
En: But then he pulled a small capsule from his pocket.

Ga: D'oscail sé é go crith agus d’úsáid sé é.
En: He opened it shakily and used it.

Ga: Timpeall cúig nóiméad níos déanaí thosaigh a análú ag dul i bhfeabhas.
En: About five minutes later, his breathing started to improve.

Ga: Ansin shroich an t-otharcharr.
En: Then the ambulance arrived.

Ga: Seiceáil siad Conor go cúramach agus bhrúigh siad é isteach ar tharga.
En: They checked Conor carefully and lifted him onto a stretcher.

Ga: "Beidh sé ceart go leor, ach beidh gá ann le cuairt ar an ospidéal," a dúirt an pharaméad go daingean.
En: "He’ll be okay, but he’ll need a visit to the hospital," said the paramedic firmly.

Ga: Shiúil Liam agus Niamh isteach san otharcharr in éineacht le Conor.
En: Liam and Niamh walked into the ambulance with Conor.

Ga: Bhí an teach tábhairne i nGaillimh fós ciúin, ach bhí croíthe Liam agus Niamh lán le buíochas.
En: The pub in Galway was still quiet, but Liam and Niamh's hearts were full of gratitude.

Ga: Phóg Niamh lámh Conor.
En: Niamh kissed Conor’s hand.

Ga: "Beidh gach rud ceart go leor," a dúirt sí go geanúil.
En: "Everything will be okay," she said tenderly.

Ga: Nod Liam lena cheann.
En: Liam nodded.

Ga: "Is breá linn thú, a Chonor."
En: "We love you, Conor."

Ga: D'imigh siad i dtreo an ospidéil, an dóchas ina n-anam.
En: They headed towards the hospital, hope in their hearts.

Ga: Bhí an oíche garbh críochnaithe agus bhí cairdeas na triúir níos láidre ná riamh.
En: The rough night was over, and the friendship of the three was stronger than ever.
