Cs: Podzimní mlha se vznášela nad Prahou.
En: An autumn mist hovered over Prague.

Cs: Na Karlově mostě se probouzel nový den.
En: A new day was waking on Charles Bridge.

Cs: Sochy byly zahalené do mlžného závoje a kolem se válely zlaté listy, které sem donesl vítr.
En: The statues were shrouded in a veil of fog, and golden leaves carried by the wind were scattered around.

Cs: Každé ráno Kamil, mladý umělec, procházel tímto historickým místem hledajíc inspiraci pro své nové obrazy.
En: Every morning, Kamil, a young artist, walked through this historic place, seeking inspiration for his new paintings.

Cs: Něco však upoutalo jeho pozornost.
En: But something caught his attention.

Cs: Malý, tajemný dopis ležel u paty jedné z soch.
En: A small, mysterious letter lay at the base of one of the statues.

Cs: Kamil byl zvědavý.
En: Kamil was curious.

Cs: Dopis tam byl každé ráno.
En: The letter was there every morning.

Cs: Nikdy nežertoval s těmito věcmi.
En: He never joked about these things.

Cs: Chtěl vědět, kdo ho tam nechává, a hlavně proč.
En: He wanted to know who left it there and, most importantly, why.

Cs: Rozhodl se, že bude hlídat.
En: He decided he would keep watch.

Cs: Jednoho rána, před svítáním, se Kamil schoval za jednou z nejslavnějších soch.
En: One morning, before dawn, Kamil hid behind one of the most famous statues.

Cs: Vzduch byl chladný a mlžný dech se mísil s vůní podzimu.
En: The air was chilly, and his misty breath mingled with the scent of autumn.

Cs: Po chvíli zahlédl postavu.
En: After a while, he spotted a figure.

Cs: Byla to žena.
En: It was a woman.

Cs: Opatrně přistoupila k místu, kde ležel dopis.
En: She approached the spot where the letter lay cautiously.

Cs: Byla to Petra, turistka z Brna.
En: It was Petra, a tourist from Brno.

Cs: Sledovala okolí jako by se bála, že ji někdo uvidí.
En: She glanced around as if afraid someone might see her.

Cs: Kamil vyšel ze svého úkrytu.
En: Kamil emerged from his hiding place.

Cs: "Promiň," řekl jemně, "hledáš něco?"
En: "Excuse me," he said gently, "are you looking for something?"

Cs: Petra se lekla, ale neunikla.
En: Petra was startled but didn’t run.

Cs: "Ano, mám tu... poslání," odpověděla nervózně.
En: "Yes, I have a... mission," she replied nervously.

Cs: Kamil viděl její obavy.
En: Kamil saw her anxiety.

Cs: "Nechci ti ublížit.
En: "I don't want to harm you.

Cs: Jen mě zajímá ten dopis," přiznal.
En: I'm just curious about the letter," he admitted.

Cs: Petra se podívala na Kamilla.
En: Petra looked at Kamil.

Cs: Nevěděla, zda mu důvěřovat.
En: She didn’t know whether to trust him.

Cs: Po chvíli mlčení však promluvila: "Ty dopisy jsou pro mého dědečka," řekla s povzdechem.
En: After a moment of silence, she spoke: "The letters are for my grandfather," she said with a sigh.

Cs: "Byl to pošťák a miloval tenhle most."
En: "He was a postman and loved this bridge."

Cs: Kamil poslouchal s porozuměním.
En: Kamil listened with understanding.

Cs: Věděl, jak důležité jsou vzpomínky.
En: He knew how important memories are.

Cs: "Neboj se, tvé tajemství je u mě v bezpečí," slíbil.
En: "Don't worry, your secret is safe with me," he promised.

Cs: "Můžu tě pro to nakreslit?
En: "May I draw you for this?

Cs: Bude to pocta vašemu vztahu."
En: It will be a tribute to your relationship."

Cs: Petra kývla a usmála se.
En: Petra nodded and smiled.

Cs: "Budu poctěna."
En: "I’d be honored."

Cs: A tak se z Kamillova pátrání stal příběh o rodině a vzpomínkách.

Cs: Naučil se, že někdy je lepší nechat věci v tajemství a respektovat to, co je skryté.
