Story Transcript:

En: It was a chilly autumn day in Oslo.

En: The golden leaves had settled like a carpet on the ground, and the trees rustled gently in the wind.

En: Sander sat at a window table in the small café and looked out.

En: The café was warm and inviting, with soft lighting and the scent of freshly brewed coffee filling the air.

En: It made him feel at home, even though his thoughts were circling around Berlin.

En: Sander worked as a software engineer there, a job he loved, but it also kept him far away from Ingrid, his girlfriend, who lived here in Oslo.

En: He knew their relationship required their full effort, which was why he had traveled here to spend time with her.

En: Ingrid arrived at the café, and a small smile spread across her face when she saw him.

En: She sat down at the table, and they took each other's hands.

Nb: "Hei," sa hun mykt, mens hun så ham inn i øynene.
En: "Hi," she said softly, looking into his eyes.

En: Sander smiled back, although he could see a shadow of worry in her gaze.

En: They ordered a cup of coffee each, and Mette, Sander's childhood friend, stopped by their table to greet them.

Nb: Hun jobbet i nærheten og hadde alltid noen få kloke ord å dele.
En: She worked nearby and always had a few wise words to share.

En: "Remember to talk to each other," Mette said after a brief conversation.

Nb: "Det er nøkkelen."
En: "That's the key."

En: A couple of hours later, after talking about this and that, the conversation turned to what everyone was thinking about.

Nb: "Jeg er bekymret for avstanden," begynte Ingrid sakte.
En: "I'm worried about the distance," Ingrid began slowly.

En: "It's hard to be apart so much of the time."

En: Sander nodded, well aware that he felt the same way.

En: "I've been thinking about it," he replied.

Nb: "Vi kan kanskje finne en løsning?
En: "Maybe we can find a solution?

En: Maybe one of us can move, or we can visit each other more often?"

En: Ingrid sighed, but not in a frustrated way.

En: "I could consider moving, but we need a plan.

En: It was a relief for Sander to hear that.

En: He had feared she would hesitate, but now he saw an opening.

En: "What if we take turns visiting each other every month?

En: Let's see how it goes until spring, and then we can make a decision."

Nb: Ingrid lyste opp og tok hånden hans igjen, sterk og varm.
En: Ingrid brightened up and took his hand again, strong and warm.

Nb: "Det høres bra ut.
En: "That sounds good.

Nb: Jeg er villig til å prøve."
En: I'm willing to try."

En: They sat there a while longer, smiling and optimistic.

Nb: Mette kom tilbake for å si farvel.
En: Mette came back to say goodbye.

En: She saw their brighter faces and knew they had made progress.

En: As they left the café hand in hand, the leaves swirled around them as if celebrating the new beginning.

En: Sander had found a balance between his career in Berlin and his relationship with Ingrid.

En: It felt like a step in the right direction, and the chilly autumn air no longer stood as a barrier between dreams and reality.
