During her 40 years of work with parents and children she has developed a simple but powerful parenting approach that promotes optimal child development. She founded the non-profit Hand in Hand Parenting in 1989. Since then, more than 800,000 copies of her Listening to Children booklets have been sold in English, Spanish, and 10 other languages. Patty has been a keynote speaker at Association for the Education of Young Children conventions and has led over 400 residential weekend workshops for families and professionals who work with parents in the U.S. and 23 other countries.
