Every Summer ends with Labor Day!!! But here in along the coast we like to start the end a week early with our Spanish Mackerel World Championships. Hosted by Trilogy Outdoors Media annually, this family friendly event is contested the weekend before labor day out of Crazy Sister Marina. This year our team was lucky enough to be blessed with the victory in a very tough field. Capt. E, Winston Glover, Addison Glover, and the Bassmaster were blessed with a 5.26 pound fish and took home the title. There are many ways to target spanish and we feel like the tournament has been won on many different techniques over the years and we share our winning technique and exactly how much work goes in to being prepared to target these little spaniards. We also talk about the effects of Hurricane Idalia on the rivers here and how it may effect the opening of shrimp baiting season with rising waters from the massive rainfall inland. We hope you enjoy and happy hunting this weekend to all that are gonna get out and enjoy the opening of dove season and deer rifle season. Enjoy!!!!
