Story Transcript:

Da: Lars og Anders var på caféen "Smørrebrød og Kaffe" og forsøgte at bestille deres drinks på dansk.
En: Lars and Anders were at the café "Smørrebrød og Kaffe" and tried to order their drinks in Danish.

Da: Lars, der normalt altid bestilte kaffe, var lidt distraheret og sagde ved et uheld "En hotdog, tak".
En: Lars, who usually always ordered coffee, was a little distracted and accidentally said "A hotdog, please".

Da: Servitricen kiggede overrasket på ham og udbrød: "En hotdog?
En: The waitress looked at him in surprise and exclaimed, "A hot dog?

Da: Er du sikker?
En: Are you sure?

Da: Det er normalt kaffe, du bestiller, ikke?"
En: You usually order coffee, right?"

Da: Lars rødmede og undskyldte for forvirringen.

Da: Imens Lars stammede sig igennem sin bestilling, sad Anders bage ved siden af og følte sig nervøs.

Da: Servitricen brød pludselig ud i latter og svarede: "Øh, undskyld, men det var vist ikke lige det, du mente at sige.
En: The waitress suddenly burst out laughing and replied, "Uh, sorry, but I guess that's not quite what you meant to say.

Da: Vil du ikke prøve igen?"
En: Won't you try again?"

Da: Anders, der nu var endnu mere forvirret, forsøgte igen: "Må jeg få... en undskyldning?"
En: Anders, now even more confused, tried again: "May I have... an apology?"

Da: Servitricen smilede venligt og sagde: "Du behøver ikke at undskylde, men hvad vil du egentlig gerne have at drikke?"
En: The waitress smiled kindly and said, "You don't need to apologize, but what would you really like to drink?"

Da: Anders følte sig flov og svarede: "Øh, en cola, tak."
En: Donald felt embarrassed and replied, "Um, a Coke, please."
