Story Transcript:

He: בכיכר הציבורית ההיסטורית של סוואנה, ג'ורג'יה, יונה ורבקה נכנסו ליום הראשון של בית הספר הקיץ.
En: In the historic public square of Savannah, Georgia, Yonah and Rivka stepped into the first day of summer school.

En: The sun was shining brilliantly, and birds chirped among the ancient trees.

En: Yonah, with wide, curious eyes and curly hair hidden under a cap, walked carefully beside his confident cousin, Rivka.

En: "This place is amazing," said Rivka, looking around.

He: "מה דעתך, יונה?"
En: "What do you think, Yonah?"

He: "כן, זה... נחמד," השיב יונה בקול שקט.
En: "Yeah, it's... nice," Yonah replied quietly.

En: Their teacher, Shai, waited by a statue in the middle of the square.

En: Shai guided them along the cobblestone paths, telling stories about ancient buildings and old family dynasties.

En: Rivka, listening to the stories with sparkling eyes, nudged Yonah to try and get involved.

En: Rivka was surprised but quickly smiled, feeling proud.

En: "Very good, Yonah," Shai said with a slight smile.

En: "Choose a group and start your research."

En: Yonah joined a small group of students and they began planning their presentation.

En: They researched a small monument in the square, but during their search, Yonah stumbled upon a strange stone.

En: In a forgotten corner, the stone had an old inscription that was barely visible.

He: "היי, תראו את זה," אמר יונה לאחרים.
En: "Hey, look at this," Yonah said to the others.

He: כולם התכופפו לבדוק את האבן.
En: They all bent down to examine the stone.

He: שי שמע את המהומה והתקרב.
En: Shai heard the commotion and approached.

He: "זה מדהים, יונה," אמר שי עם מבט מופתע בעיניו.
En: "That's amazing, Yonah," Shai said with a surprised look in his eyes.

He: "זו כתובת שלא ידעתי עליה.
En: "This is an inscription I didn't know about.

He: תמשיך, מה כתוב שם?"
En: Go on, what does it say?"

He: יונה הקריא את הכתובת בקול רם.
En: Yonah read the inscription aloud.

He: זה היה סיפור על אדם ששחרר עבדים בדרום ועזר להם למצוא חופש.
En: It told the story of a man who freed slaves in the South and helped them find freedom.

He: שי, הופתע ומיד התחיל לספר סיפור נרגש על אותו אירוע.
En: Shai, surprised, immediately started to tell an impassioned story about the event.

He: התלמידים הקשיבו בשקיקה, וגם יונה הרגיש בטוח יותר.
En: The students listened eagerly, and Yonah felt more confident.

He: כשסיים, כולם מחאו לו כפיים.
En: When he finished, everyone applauded him.

He: שי חייך ואמר, "מצוין, יונה! אתה מצאת את הקול שלך היום."
En: Shai smiled and said, "Excellent, Yonah! You found your voice today."

He: בסיום היום, רבקה ניגשה אליו ואמרה, "גאה בך, יונה.
En: At the end of the day, Rivka approached him and said, "Proud of you, Yonah.
