Lv: Vienā saulainā dienā, kad Rīgas Centrāltirgus pilns ar svaigi nomazgātiem gurķiem un košiem kāpostiem, Līga nolēma iegādāties kārtīgu podu skābētu kāpostu.
En: On a sunny day, when Riga Central Market was full of freshly washed cucumbers and vibrant cabbage, Līga decided to buy a good jar of sauerkraut.

Lv: Viņa tajā dienā bija izvēlējusies vislabākos, visgaršīgākos kāpostus - tieši tādus, kas būtu ideāli vakariņām.
En: She had chosen the best, tastiest sauerkraut - exactly the kind that would be perfect for dinner.

Lv: Līdzās Līgai tirgū iepirkties bija nācis arī Juris.
En: Next to Līga, Juris was also shopping at the market.

En: But a commotion broke out among the shoppers, and in the bustle of the market, Līga's and Juris's baskets were accidentally swapped.

En: However, when Līga opened the jar that was supposed to be full of sauerkraut, instead of finding the pungent smell of sauerkraut, she smelled a deep and bitter aroma of cucumbers.

Lv: Juris šajā vakarā bija gatavojies izbaudīt savu precīzi izvēlēto gurķu garnīru, bet, iegremdējis rokas savā grozā, izvilka nevis kraukšķīgos dārgumus, bet gan podu ar skābētiem kāpostiem.
En: That evening, Juris had been prepared to enjoy his precisely selected cucumber garnish, but when he dipped his hand into his basket, he pulled out not the crunchy treasure he had hoped for, but a jar of sauerkraut.

Lv: Viņš izbrīnīts pajautāja sev, kur lai dodos ar šiem kāpostiem?
En: He wondered to himself, where could he possibly go with these sauerkraut?

Lv: Abi, Līga un Juris, bija neizpratnē un sarūgtināti par nenotikušo vakariņu plānu.
