Story Transcript:

En: On a windy day blowing over the hills of Ljubljana, the old castle proudly stood above the city.

Sl: Bil je sončen dan, ko sta si Ana in Matić zaželela ogledati slavni Ljubljanski grad.
En: It was a sunny day when Ana and Matić decided to visit the famous Ljubljana Castle.

Sl: Bila sta zelo vznemirjena, saj sta o gradu slišala mnogo zgodb in legend.
En: They were very excited because they had heard many stories and legends about the castle.

Sl: Ko sta prispela na grad, jima je vodič takoj začel kazati pot skozi mnoge sobane in hodnike.
En: When they arrived at the castle, the guide immediately began to show them the way through many rooms and corridors.

En: Ana was a curious girl and was interested in everything.

Sl: Na svojem fotoaparatu je naredila veliko fotografij in poslušala zgodbe o zgodovini grajskih soban.
En: She took many pictures on her camera and listened to the stories about the history of the castle rooms.

Sl: Medtem ko je vodič razlagal o viteških oklepih, je Ano pritegnila čudna lesena vrata.
En: While the guide explained about the knight's armor, Ana was drawn to a strange wooden door.

En: Without realizing it, she left the group and opened the door.

En: She found herself in an old castle kitchen with a giant cauldron in the center of the room.

Sl: Vse je bilo polno prahu in pajčevin.
En: Everything was full of dust and cobwebs.

En: "Surely this is an old bathing room," thought Ana, smiling at the thought of a knight bathing royally in a large cauldron.

En: But then she quickly realized her mistake and that she was actually in an old kitchen.

En: Meanwhile, Matić noticed that Ana was no longer with them.

En: He became worried and went towards the last door Ana had opened.

En: When he entered the room, he found Ana standing in front of the cauldron with a puzzled expression on her face.

Sl: "Ana, kaj počneš tu?
En: "Ana, what are you doing here?"

Sl: " je vprašal Matić.
En: Matić asked.

Sl: "O, Matić!
En: "Oh, Matić!

Sl: Mislim, da sem se izgubila.
En: I think I got lost.

Sl: In gledala sem ta velik kotliček in mislila, da je to stara kopalnica vitezov!
En: And I was looking at this big pot and thought it was the old knights' bathing room!"

Sl: " je zmedeno odgovorila Ana.
En: Ana answered in confusion.

Sl: To je stara kuhinja.
En: This is an old kitchen.

Sl: Poglej, tamle je celo staro ognjišče.
En: Look, there's even an old fireplace over there."

Sl: "Spet sta slišala glas drugega vodiča in še nekaj ljidi iz njune skupine, ki so ju iskali.
En: They then heard the voice of another guide and some people from their group looking for them.

Sl: Ljudje so prišli v kuhinjo in ko so videli Ano in Matića pred kotlom, so se vsi skupaj zasmejali.
En: The people entered the kitchen and when they saw Ana and Matić in front of the cauldron, they all laughed together.

Sl: Vodič jim je razložil o uporabi velikega kotla in kako so nekoč kuhali za cel grad.
En: The guide explained to them about the use of the large cauldron and how they once cooked for the entire castle.

En: Ana and Matić were relieved to be found and glad that they had learned something new about the history of the castle.

Sl: Ob koncu dneva, ko sta Ana in Matić zapuščala grad, sta se nasmejala in pogovarjala o svoji majhni avanturi.
En: As the day came to an end and Ana and Matić left the castle, they laughed and talked about their little adventure.

En: It seemed like a fairy tale to them, one they could someday tell their children.

En: And so their story ended with a memory of an unusual but wonderful afternoon at Ljubljana Castle.

En: From then on, they always made sure not to stray from the path in old castles, but sometimes a little adventure is just what is needed to bring old stories back to life.
