Story Transcript:

Sr: На ободу села, скривена иза плода стогодишње липе, налазила се Милодрагова кафана.
En: On the outskirts of the village, hidden behind the branches of a hundred-year-old linden tree, there stood Milodrag's tavern.

Sr: У дубре суботе, ту се нашла Милица, сама за шанком, окружена аромама из источњачке печенице и музиком која је текла из старог радија Соко.
En: In the shade of Saturday afternoon, Milica found herself alone behind the bar, surrounded by the aroma of Eastern European roasted meats and the music flowing from the old Sokol radio.

Sr: Штукнула је шаком по шанку и речи су јој отеле из уста, "Килограм ракије, молим!
En: She pounded her fist on the bar and the words spilled out of her mouth, "A kilogram of rakija, please!"

Sr: " Кафеджија млако кимну Милосав прешавши руком преко браду испод које је радио боле.
En: The tavern owner, Milosav, nodded halfheartedly, running his hand over his beard where a dull ache lingered.

Sr: Забуна је била почињена.
En: Confusion ensued.

Sr: Сећање на домаћу ракију се просипала у ждрело, попут сладаљуке воде с планинске извор.
En: The memory of homemade rakija poured down her throat, like a sweet mountain spring.

Sr: На трпези су се редали предмети израде задовољства, а Милица је нагледала боцу са клековачом и почела да ради оно сто је дошла.
En: Objects of pleasure were laid out on the table, and Milica glanced at the bottle of juniper rakija, ready to do what she had come for.
