Lt: Pavasaris Vilniaus senamiestyje šviečia šiltu saulės spinduliu.
En: Spring shines in the warm sunlight in the old town of Vilnius.

Lt: Aurelija, miesto lankytoja iš tolimo miestelio, vaikštinėja siauromis akmenimis grįstomis gatvelėmis ir žavisi senovine architektūra.
En: Aurelija, a visitor from a distant town, wanders through the narrow cobblestone streets and admires the ancient architecture.

Lt: Ji atvyko į sostinę aplankyti savo geriausio draugo Jono, kuris čia mokosi ir dirba gidu.
En: She arrived in the capital to visit her best friend Jonas, who studies and works as a guide there.

Lt: "Ar matei jau Pilies gatvę?
En: "Have you seen Pilies street yet?"

Lt: " klausė Jonas.
En: asked Jonas.

Lt: "Dar ne, bet labai norėčiau," šypsojosi Aurelija.
En: "Not yet, but I'd really like to," Aurelija smiled.

Lt: Jonas paėmė Aureliją už rankos ir vedė pro Katedros aikštę link kuklių viduramžių namų su iškilmingais fasadais.
En: Jonas took Aurelija's hand and led her through Cathedral Square towards modest medieval houses with magnificent facades.

Lt: Gatvėje visuomet tvyrojo menininkų aura – gatvės muzikantai grojo, o piešėjai tapė praeivių portretus.
En: The street was always filled with an artistic atmosphere - street musicians played, and artists painted portraits of passersby.

Lt: Oro pilnas kvapas, žmonių šurmulys ir muzika sukuria tikrą gyvenimo himną.
En: The air was full of the smell of life, the bustle of people, and the music created a real anthem of life.

Lt: Štai tada, eidama pro šalį, Aurelija pastebėjo nenatūraliai ramų žmogų, stovintį ant pjedestalo.
En: It was then, as she walked by, Aurelija noticed an unnaturally serene man standing on a pedestal.

Lt: Jis buvo visiškai nejudrus ir Aurelija galvojo, kad tai yra gatvės atlikėjas, imituojantis statulą.
En: He was completely still, and Aurelija thought he was a street performer mimicking a statue.

Lt: Beje, statula buvo labai realistiškai išvaizdi, o jos veidas – lyg tikro poeto.

Lt: Aurelija priėjo prie "statulos" ir tarė: "Labas, labai įspūdingai atrodai!

Lt: Ar galiu tau nupirkti gėrimą, kaip padėką už šį meną?
En: Can I buy you a drink as a thank you for this art?"

Lt: "Netoliese stovėjusi Giedrė negalėjo susilaikyti nuo juoko.
En: Giedrė, who was standing nearby, couldn't help but laugh.

Lt: Ji dirbo greta esančiame muziejuje ir žinojo šį paminklą kaip savo penkis pirštus.
En: She worked at the museum next door and knew this monument like the back of her hand.

Lt: "Gerbiamoji, tai yra mūsų garsaus lietuviško poeto skulptūra," šypsojosi ji.
En: "Madam, this is a sculpture of our famous Lithuanian poet," she smiled.

Lt: Aurelijai susiraukė kaktos.
En: Aurelija blushed.

Lt: Ji pasijuto nepatogiai.
En: She felt uncomfortable.

Lt: "O, atleiskite!
En: "Oh, I'm sorry!

Lt: Aš tikrai nesupratau!
En: I really didn't understand!"

Lt: " – išgąsdinta tarstelėjo Aurelija.
En: she stammered, feeling frightened.

Lt: "Tik nesijaudink," ramino Giedrė, "ne pirmą kartą čia tokią klaidą matau.
En: "Don't worry," reassured Giedrė, "I've seen this mistake here more than once.

Lt: O beje, mano vardas Giedrė!
En: By the way, my name is Giedrė!"

Lt: "Aurelija atsipalaidavo.
En: Aurelija relaxed.

Lt: Jonas šypsojosi ir pritarė:"Patikėk manimi, tikrai ne vienas jau čia bandė pasikalbėti su poeto skulptūra.
En: Jonas smiled and agreed, "Believe me, you're not the first one to try to talk to the poet's sculpture.

Lt: Tai yra vienas iš senamiesčio pokštų.
En: It's one of the old town's jokes."

Lt: "Tada, pavakare, jie visi trise nusprendė eiti į artimą kavinę, kurioje Giedrė papasakojo dar daug senamiesčio istorijų.
En: That evening, the three of them decided to go to a nearby café where Giedrė shared many more stories about the old town.

Lt: Aurelija nuo širdies juokėsi dėl savo klaidos ir džiaugėsi, kad galėjo susipažinti su naujais žmonėmis ir išmokti daugiau apie Vilniaus senamiestį.
En: Aurelija laughed heartily at her mistake and was happy to have met new people and learned more about the old town of Vilnius.

Lt: Nuo to vakaro, kai tik Aurelija grįždavo į Vilnių, visada užsukdavo pasisveikinti su "gyvu" poeto paminklu ir naujais draugais, kurie ją tokia šilta šypsena sutikdavo.
En: From that evening on, whenever Aurelija returned to Vilnius, she always stopped by to greet the "living" poet monument and the new friends who warmly welcomed her with a smile.

Lt: Ir nors jos susitikimas su skulptūra buvo netikėtas, iš jo išsirutuliojo tikra draugystė ir begalė įdomių istorijų, kurias Aurelija vėliau pasakojo savo gimtajame mieste, šiltai prisimindama savo nuotykį Vilniaus senamiestyje.
En: Although her encounter with the sculpture was unexpected, it resulted in a true friendship and countless interesting stories, which Aurelija later shared in her hometown, fondly remembering her adventure in Vilnius' old town.
