The innocence of nature. It seems like an oxymoron. I've been watching the budding of a rose for nearly two weeks. As humans we want it all right now. Yet this rose doesn't seem stressed. The moments required are taking in the elements that make up the entire picture. And as I watch this rose it occurs to me how unfair we are toward the things that have invited victory to our personal paths. Once lived out we hang on them. Yet I know in the days ahead this rose won't be holding onto one colorful pedal. What if we're supposed to do the same. Shed the victories so that we can appreciate the entire journey.
