Lv: Sen rīts Rīgā mirdzēja tirdzniecības rosībā.
En: One morning in Riga, the trading activities shone brightly.

Lv: Rīgas Centrāltirgus bija dzīvs kā nekad.
En: The Riga Central Market was alive as ever.

Lv: Līga, ko mūžam saistīja liela interese par latviešu ēdieniem, bija izlēmusi atrast kādu īpašu vietējo sastāvdaļu savai vakariņu receptei.
En: Līga, whose great interest in Latvian food always bound her, had decided to find a special local ingredient for her dinner recipe.

Lv: Kopā ar draugiem Andri un Inesi viņa šķirstīja krāšņos tirgus stendus.
En: Together with her friends Andris and Inese, she browsed through the splendid market stalls.

Lv: "Kas tas ir?
En: "What is this?"

Lv: " jautājās Līga, paceldama dīvainu, nedaudz izliektu dārzeņu.

Lv: "Ak, Līga, tas ir tradicionāls latviešu dārzeņš - 'brīnumbālis'!

Lv: To pie mums ēd svētkos," piebilda Andris, cenšoties nesmelgt.
En: We eat it during celebrations," added Andris, trying not to smirk.

Lv: Līga, kas nekad nebija dzirdējusi par šādu dārzeņu, bija pārsteigta un ieinteresēta vienlaikus.
En: Līga, who had never heard of such a vegetable, was surprised and intrigued at the same time.

Lv: "Sagatavošanā jābūt īpašai maģijai," teica Inese, pievienojoties drauga jautrībai.
En: "The preparation must involve a special kind of magic," said Inese, joining her friend's merriment.

Lv: "Tai jābūt noslēpumā turētai senai receptei!
En: "It must be a well-kept secret, an ancient recipe!"

Lv: "Līga, nenojaušot draugu sacīto, nopirka dīvaino dārzeņu un devās mājup, lai uzsāktu savu piedzīvojumu.

Lv: Tad viņa mēģināja to vārīt, bet tas nekļuva mīkstāks.

Lv: Līga nolēma to iekļaut savā šefpavāra piedzīvojumu stāstos un pievienoja to vakariņu galdam kā jautrības avotu.
En: Līga decided to include it in her chef adventures' stories and added it to the dinner table as a source of amusement.

Lv: Un tā, ar smiekliem un draudzības sajūtu, vakars pie Līgas beidzās patiesi silti un gaiši.
En: And so, with laughter and a sense of friendship, the evening at Līga's ended warm and bright.

Lv: Pat ja recepte neizdevās, draugu kopābūšana un kopīgi piedzīvotais vienmēr paliks viņu sirdīs kā dārga atmiņa.
