Uk: Сонце вже стояло високо в небі міста Львів, коли Іван прокинувся. Ще з полувідкритими очима, він відчув аромат смаженої цибулі, який заповнив кімнату. Этой аромат кидає виклик вже самому сну Івана. Це запах українського борщу.
En: The sun was already high in the sky of Lviv when Ivan woke up. Still half-asleep, he could smell fried onions filling the room with aroma. This scent challenged even Ivan's own dream. It was the smell of Ukrainian borscht.

Uk: Сусідка по квартирі, Катерина, уже давно працювала в кухні. Вона була настільки пристрасна до готування, що б менш вмілий кухар ніколи не міг зрозуміти всю насолоду, яку вона відчувала, коли готувала.
