A story has circulated the internet for years: a grieving mother in Celina, Texas, found dead in a rocking chair, clutching a crude doll made of sticks, sitting before a shrine to her drowned son. A note in her handwriting dated months after she died. A Sanskrit word meaning "construct" pasted to the altar. And a theory that she created a "tulpa"—a physical entity born from the sheer force of her grief—that turned on her and killed her.

It is one of the most disturbing stories you will ever hear. And it is not true.

In this episode, we investigate the viral mystery of Olivia Mabel—and uncover the truth behind one of the internet's most persistent hoaxes. We trace the story back to its origin: a 2016 Kickstarter campaign for a short film called *Thoughtform*, created by a California production company called Elftree Media. The film's creators built an elaborate fictional website, backdated posts to make the story appear older, and invented not just Olivia and Aiden, but an entire supporting cast of police officers, paramedics, and paranormal investigators who never existed. We examine the evidence that debunks the story: the absence of any obituary, death certificate, or police record; the suspicious timing of the "discovered" documents; the whois records linking the Olivia Mabel website directly to the film's creators. And we ask the question that matters: Why did this story spread so far, so fast—and why do so many people still believe it, even after the truth has been exposed?
